'He's not that fast, I knew what to expect': Feyenoord right-back Givairo Read on facing Rafa Leao

"He's not that fast I knew what to expect. I watched some footage in advance, so I knew what to expect. I believe the atmosphere at De Kuip helped distract him a bit, so I am grateful to our fans," said Givairo Read, the Feyenoord's right-back born in 2006, who managed last night to inflict on Milan a defeat much heavier than the final 1-0 scoreline in the first leg of the Champions League playoffs.
In his comments, one addressee was clear: Rafa Leao, once again merely a spectator on an evening that, like many other prime performances, could have cemented his place on the biggest European stage. The problem is that the opportunities keep going unused by the Portuguese "10," and sooner or later those chances are bound to run out.
