Ajax central defender Daniele Rugani has been handed a suspended six-month prison sentence for driving under the influence, according to TorinoToday.

On July 21, 2023, police stopped Rugani’s car after he registered a blood alcohol level of 1.56 grams per litre – three times the legal limit. The Italian could have paid a fine of €5,000, but he refused, as that would have led to the confiscation of his Maserati Levante Trofeo. Consequently, he was stripped of his driving licence, received a suspended sentence of six months and a fine of €2,000, and his car was confiscated.

This season, Rugani has played 18 matches and scored 1 goal.
