Vitor Roque should not return to Brazil - reports

13 February, 16:09

Vitor Roque returning to Brazil is not on the cards for now. According to Mundo Deportivo, Palmeiras are keen to acquire the 19-year-old immediately – with the Brazilian winter transfer window open until February 28 – in order to strengthen its squad ahead of the Club World Cup. However, the forward is not expected to move in the near future.

Owned by FC Barcelona, who recruited him last winter for a fee of €30 million, Vitor Roque is currently on loan at Betis Sevilla until the end of the season. The Sevillian club have an option to purchase him for €25 million, which would secure 80% of his rights. If the current 11th-placed La Liga side does not exercise that option this summer, he will return to Barca on a free transfer. Otherwise, the Blaugranas will still have the opportunity to buy him back for €27.5 million in the summer of 2026. In any case, the tenants of the Benito-Villamarin Stadium are not planning to part ways with the former Cruzeiro man for the time being. Moreover, the player himself is not interested in changing clubs mid-season – Palmeiras are set.
