Xabi Alonso has a verbal agreement with Bayer Leverkusen where the club will not stand in his way if he wants to join Real Madrid in the near future, claims Relevo’s Rodra.

The Spaniard has a pact with the German club’s hierarchy, agreeing that he could leave Leverkusen to take up Los Blancos’ managerial role ‘when the time is right’.

This pact could be triggered in the summer if Carlo Ancelotti is sacked and Real Madrid feel the need to bring in an exciting young coach like Alonso.

Xabi is contracted to Bayer Leverkusen until 2027, but it won’t be a problem for him to terminate this and move to Real Madrid in the foreseeable future.

The Spanish gaffer is currently focused on helping Bayer Leverkusen get closer to Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga table.
