AC Milan crash out of Champions League

18 February, 19:53

AC Milan's Champions League dreams were shattered last night as they were eliminated by Feyenoord in the playoffs.

Despite taking an early lead through Santiago Gimenez's header, the Rossoneri were unable to capitalize on their advantage and were ultimately undone by Julian Carranza's second-half equalizer.

The turning point of the match came when AC Milan left-back Theo Hernandez received a red card for diving in the 58th minute.

Hernandez's dismissal left his team reeling, and Feyenoord took full advantage of the numerical superiority.

Gimenez had given AC Milan a dream start, scoring in the first minute of the match.

However, despite creating several chances, the Rossoneri were unable to find the net again. Feyenoord's equalizer came in the 73rd minute, when Carranza headed past the AC Milan defense.

The 1-1 draw marked a disastrous end to AC Milan's Champions League campaign, with Feyenoord advancing to the knockout stages.

The defeat is a significant setback for the Italian giants, who had been hoping to make a deep run in the competition.
