Barcelona's salary cap has received a significant boost, increasing from €426m to €463m following the close of the winter transfer window, according to new figures released by La Liga on Tuesday.

The Catalan club's limit has risen by approximately €40m since the summer, with the increase largely attributed to the club's return to the 1:1 rule during the winter window.

Despite the rise, Barcelona still trail Real Madrid, who top the list with a staggering limit of €754m.

Atletico Madrid sit in third place with a salary cap of €314m. Barcelona had a quiet winter transfer window, opting not to make any new signings and instead focusing on securing the futures of their brightest talents through contract renewals.

Gavi, Pedri, Ronald Araujo, Gerard Martin, and Pau Cubarsi have all committed to long-term contracts, with more renewals expected in the coming months.

Robert Lewandowski and Inigo Martinez are also expected to stay, while a new deal for Lamine Yamal is likely to be announced when he turns 18.

The increase in salary cap and the club's focus on contract renewals suggest that Barcelona are prioritizing stability and continuity over major signings.

Sporting director Deco has hinted that the summer transfer window may also be quiet, stating that the squad does not require many new additions to strengthen.
