Hamann praises Bayern after Champions League win over Leverkusen: 'You can hardly play better'
Following Bayern commanding 2-0 triumph over Bayer Leverkusen, Dietmar Hamann has expressed his admiration for Bayern Munich’s performance. The TV pundit now views the Munich side as one of the top contenders to reach the Champions League final.
Bayern have sent a resounding message with a polished display against Bayer Leverkusen. "You can hardly play better than Bayern did in their 2-0 win in Leverkusen," Hamann praised. He was particularly struck by how the Bavarians ruthlessly capitalised on Leverkusen’s mistakes, dominating the game with "authority, aggression, and composure on the ball."
Hamann believes the goalless Bundesliga clash between the two sides in February was overrated. Back then, Bayern had opted for a cautious tactical approach, but in the knockout stages of the Champions League, "efficiency and clinical finishing" are what matter – and Bayern delivered exactly that.
For Hamann, Bayern now rank among the frontrunners to reach the final. "In their half of the draw, with Barcelona and possibly Dortmund, I see Bayern as clear favourites to make the final," the TV expert stated. Even in their quarter-final showdown with Inter Milan, Bayern will head into the tie with confidence and have every chance of progressing.
