Rudi Garcia comments on Courtois' return to Belgium national team: 'This is one of those situations that will be discussed first and foremost'
Belgium's head coach, Rudi Garcia, has responded to questions about the return of Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to the national team. It is worth recalling that Courtois had not played for Belgium since 2023 due to a conflict with former coach Domenico Tedesco.
"We will talk, and I will ask if anyone needs to apologize for what happened. We will discuss it once and for all and not revisit this topic. If we keep going back to what happened two, three, or five years ago, we will never resolve the situation.
"I won’t see the players until Monday. This is one of those situations that will be discussed first and foremost. Certainly, we will all talk with the chosen group of leaders. However, we need to start this new adventure from scratch," Garcia said.
