"I am very proud of this team in a difficult match, thanks to the lack of rest hours and the strength of the opponent, who played wonderfully. The team was exhausted," Carlo Ancelotti said.
"The team was able to hold out in the difficult moments. The first half and the first part of the second half, then little by little we began to control the ball better, we created chances," Ancelotti adds.
Real Madrid looked shattered and exhausted in the game against Villarreal, but they still won, thanks to two brilliant goals from Mbappe.
Up next for Madrid is the international break before the players return for the final stretch of the season.
