'They are legends. It doesn't mean I'm bigger:' Mbappe silences comparison with Ronaldo and Cristiano
Kylian Mbappe's brace against Villarreal helped him overtake Ronaldo Nazario in terms of goals scored in his debut season. The Frenchman is only seven goals away from overtaking Cristiano Ronaldo in that regard.
Asked about achieving such a milestone at Real Madrid, Mbappe said:
“They're legends who have defined an era. It's important, but it's all about numbers.
"If I score more goals than Ronaldo and Cristiano, it doesn't mean I'm bigger; it just means my first season is going better.
"The important thing is helping out and winning titles. Scoring goals is important, but even more so if we win La Liga, the Champions League, and the Copa del Rey," Mbappe adds.
Mbappe sounds quite humble and seems like a proper team player. Despite that, he still leads the team in terms of goals, with 31 goals already.
