Real Madrid secured a 2-1 win over Villarreal, but the match took a toll on their players. Kylian Mbappe scored both goals, but fatigue was clear across the team. The short recovery time after facing Atletico Madrid was a major issue.
Two players reportedly needed medical attention after the final whistle. Some were left lying on the pitch, unable to stand up immediately. The medical staff rushed in to assist them.
According to Mario Cortegana, players such as Aurelien Tchouameni, and Fran Garcia required medical attention.
The packed schedule has clearly affected the team’s fitness. Real Madrid will now have to manage their rotation carefully ahead of their next match in La Liga this weekend.
