Diego Simeone: 'It's a pleasure to watch Yamal play, Reinildo will have a tough time'
Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone shared his thoughts ahead of the team’s La Liga clash against Barcelona, as well as reflecting on their recent Champions League elimination.
On how to digest the Champions League exit “We prepared for the match like we do every weekend, looking for the best options to play a good game and doing what we need to do to ensure the team competes in the best possible way. We approach matches the same whether we're playing away or at home. It's not about the location, but about what we believe can benefit the team."
On the 4-4 draw at Montjuic “We played our best this season at their stadium twice. We were fortunate because we were very clinical in the goal-scoring situations we had. That was an important foundation for winning those two games."
On facing Lamine “Reinildo plays in that position, and it's normal for him to have to compete against Lamine. He's a player with an incredible future and present. It's a pleasure to watch him play. Reinildo will have a tough match, just like everyone who has had to face Lamine."
Atletico Madrid will host Barcelona at the Metropolitano in a crucial match as both teams continue their battle at the top of the LaLiga table.
