'I always call my mum before a game': Mo Salah ahead of Carabao Cup final
Mohamed Salah has revealed who he would most like to take his iconic post-match photo with if Liverpool triumph against Newcastle in Carabao Cup final.
When asked about his preferred teammate for the trademark celebration, Salah named Virgil van Dijk as his top choice.
"I always love to see Dominik but I would say Virgil.
"I just did it after three or four games and just kept going. I asked someone in the media at the club, he is very close to me and he told me it’s a good idea so just try it, and it’s working well," Mohamed said.
Looking ahead to the final, Salah shared a personal pre-match ritual, revealing the last person he speaks to before stepping onto the pitch.
"I would say my mum. I call her on the phone all the time.
"Since I started my career, I call her every day before a game, on the way to the stadium. I always call her. She just sends me a prayer and wishes me good luck," Salah shared.
