Real Madrid reportedly shortlist Tottenham's Cristian Romero and Pedro Porro
Real Madrid have drawn up a shortlist of three centre-back targets, with Tottenham's Cristian Romero among the key options.
Injuries to David Alaba and Eder Militao have highlighted Madrid's need for depth at the position, and signing a new centre-back and right-back is a top priority this summer. Trent Alexander-Arnold is their main right-back target, with Pedro Porro also considered, according to TEAMTalk.
Romero, whose form has been inconsistent but remains a key figure for Tottenham, is valued at over £60m and has no release clause. Tottenham are aware of Madrid’s interest but are determined to keep him, as his contract runs until 2027. While Romero isn’t actively seeking a move, Madrid could be an attractive option, especially if Spurs miss out on European football next season.
Alongside Romero, Madrid are also monitoring Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite and Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah, the latter available for free. Tottenham are keen to add to their centre-back options, with Marc Guehi a potential target.
