3 goals in 10 games: Santiago Gimenez speaks on slow start to Milan career
Big things were expected from Santiago Gimenez when he left PSV to join Milan in February in a deal worth €35m.
However, the Mexican striker has only managed three goals for the Italian club after 10 games, with his barren run stretching for over a month.
Speaking on his start to life in Italy, Gimenez said:
“I understood the greatness of the club when I arrived, but I’d already felt it from the outside. You feel it twice as much on the inside, it’s gigantic.
“We’re not going through a great moment, but they welcomed me in the best possible way, I am living the dream. I want to be an example and make people understand that everything is possible. I live in the present and am enjoying every second.
“Like all changes, the first month was a bit complicated. There are new things to get used to, new journeys, everything is new, even the language of course.
“Little by little, though, I am settling in. My wife has helped me a lot and has let me focus mainly on football," the striker adds.
Gimenez will now be hoping to find his scoring boots when he returns from international duty with Mexico later in March.
