SPORT reports that Barcelona remain silent on Jonathan David despite the Canadian striker’s willingness to join on a free transfer. The 25-year-old, who has scored 23 goals in 41 appearances for Lille this season, including strong performances in the Champions League, has offered himself to the club. However, Barcelona's lack of action suggests he's not a priority at the moment. The club is focused on signing a left-winger for the summer market.

David’s physical abilities and goal-scoring potential make him an attractive option, but his need for space to create chances raises doubts. Barcelona’s lack of consensus on his signing, combined with Ferran Torres’ emergence as a second-choice striker, further complicates matters.

Deco, Barcelona’s sporting director, believes the striker position is covered with Lewandowski's renewal and Torres’ form. The club’s real need lies in strengthening the wings, particularly with Ansu Fati out of favour.

David's camp remains hopeful of a move to Barcelona, but if no deal is made by the end of April, he will explore offers from other clubs. While the Premier League appears to be his likely destination, with West Ham offering a lucrative deal, David’s future at Barcelona seems increasingly unlikely.
