Barcelona's Hector Fort set to leave as clubs line up for his move - reports
El Nacional reports that Hans-Dieter Flick has made it clear that several players do not fit into his plans for next season and must leave if they want to play. Among these players are several from Barcelona, such as Pau Victor, Ansu Fati, and Inaki Pena, with the latter being the most recent example.
However, the most notable case is Hector Fort. He has only started three times, all due to Jules Kounde's suspension, not tactical decisions. Flick has not shown confidence in the young defender, considering him too "green" for the first team. Fort was close to leaving in January and last summer, but a lack of alternatives at right-back meant he stayed. It is now almost certain that he will leave, likely on loan, to gain experience in La Liga.
Several clubs, including Alaves, Getafe, Leganes, UD Las Palmas, and RCD Mallorca, are interested in signing Fort, who also has offers from abroad and Segunda. Barcelona are already in talks to reinforce the right-back position, with Andrei Ratiu being the favourite option. They may include Fort in the deal to lower the asking price of €25m.
Fort had hoped to prove himself to Flick, but now he has accepted that leaving Barcelona is the best option for his development.
