Emmanuel Petit on Messi vs Ronaldo debate: 'Don't ask me. I love them all'
For nearly two decades, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have dominated world football with 13 Ballon d'Ors and numerous records. The debate over who is superior remains ongoing. Former player Emmanuel Petit, who enjoyed success with Arsenal, Chelsea, and Barcelona, finds it impossible to choose between them.
Asked about the GOAT debate, the World Cup-winning Frenchman said: “Cristiano Ronaldo is closing in on 1000 goals, but there is no way I could ever choose between him or Lionel Messi.
"That’s like asking which supercar you like the most or which food or which beautiful woman. Messi, Ronaldo, Pele, Diego Maradona, Michel Platini, Johan Cruyff, Zinedine Zidane. Don’t ask me! I love them all.”
Messi, now at Inter Miami, has won 46 major titles, while Ronaldo, still playing for Al-Nassr at 40, aims for 1,000 career goals before considering retirement.
