Mauricio Pochettino has defended his record during his time as Chelsea manager, highlighting the team's significant improvement under his leadership.

In an interview with the UK press, Pochettino reflected on his sole season at Stamford Bridge, where he guided the team to a sixth-placed finish in the Premier League.

This marked a notable jump of six places in the table from the previous campaign.

Pochettino acknowledged the team's difficult start but emphasized their strong finish to the season.

"The team in the beginning suffered many, many problems, and even then we were performing well without getting the results we wanted," he said.

"In the end, we were doing really, really well. If you see the table in the last six months, you can see the progression was massive. We became a team fighting for the top four, and that was a good thing to keep going in the season after."

Pochettino expressed his gratitude to Chelsea for the opportunity to work on a project that allowed him and his coaching staff to learn and grow.
