'It was a combination of many thing': Kylian Mbappe reveals why he struggled to adapt at Real Madrid
Kylian Mbappe seemd to struggle to settle at Real Madrid following his much heralded move from France.
"My adaptation took a little time," Mbappe admits, "But I was happy from the first day."
Explaining why his adaptation took a while, Mbappe said, "It was a combination of many things.
"You have to readjust to a new club, a new country... I was reaching a point in my career where I wasn't at my best in terms of sport and I had to be at the top of my game right away because we already had finals to play in, a championship where you have to win every match because there's a lot of competition, a new Champions League format, matches every three days, seven different competitions to play in.
"There were a lot of things to assimilate and very quickly. Unfortunately, I only did it "quickly". But I knew it was going to work.
"The club has always had the best attitude towards me, I knew that at some point, things would change and I would be able to show my qualities in Madrid," Mbappe adds.
Real Madrid chased Mbappe for almost four years before finally landing him. They luckily got him for free.
