Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has praised rising star Myles Lewis-Skelly as a "natural leader" following his breakthrough for both club and country.

Lewis-Skelly, 18, received his first England call-up last week and could make his senior debut for the Three Lions against Albania at Wembley on Friday.

The left-back has become a regular in Mikel Arteta's team, alongside fellow teenager Ethan Nwaneri, who has been called up to England under-21s.

Wilshere, who managed both players during his role as Arsenal's under-18 boss, has revealed what sets them apart from their peers.

"They were just doing things that none of the other players could do," Wilshere said.

Wilshere highlighted Lewis-Skelly's leadership qualities, saying: "Myles is more of a natural leader, and he wants to bring everyone with him."

In contrast, Wilshere described Nwaneri as "really driven" and focused on his individual goals.

Wilshere is confident that the duo can achieve big things under Arteta's guidance.

He also credited Arteta with inspiring him to pursue a career in management, saying: "Mikel was the one" who made him want to become a head coach.
