Junior Firpo reportedly set to leave Leeds as free agent with interest from La Liga clubs
TEAMTalk reports that Leeds full-back Junior Firpo is set to leave Elland Road this summer with his contract expiring at the end of the season.
The 28-year-old, who joined Leeds from Barcelona in 2021 for £12.9m, has had a mixed spell at the club. Despite struggling in the Premier League, he has excelled in the Championship, contributing 12 goals (three goals, nine assists) in 28 appearances this season.
With no progress on a contract extension and after recently changing agents, Firpo is increasingly likely to leave as a free agent. He has attracted interest from several La Liga clubs, including his former team, Real Betis. His representatives are currently focusing on opportunities in Spain, with a return to La Liga being the most probable outcome.
Leeds manager Daniel Farke has avoided commenting on Firpo’s future, focusing instead on the team’s promotion push.
