'Cristiano is decisive in the 90th minute, most would choose him to take the penalty': Fernandes praises Cristiano Ronaldo
Bruno Fernandes has revealed that he frequently practices and discusses penalty-taking with Cristiano Ronaldo during their time together in the Portugal national team, citing the invaluable insights he gains from the iconic forward.
In an interview, Fernandes shared his admiration for Ronaldo's evolving approach to penalty-taking.
"When we go to the national team, I'm always having shots with Cristiano to understand the way he does it. We speak a lot. He sometimes asks me what I think about the goalkeeper and everything," Bruno shared.
Fernandes also highlighted Ronaldo's adaptability in his penalty techniques, noting how the 40-year-old has adjusted his style over time.
"Even Cristiano, if you see it now from the past, if you see the penalty against Chelsea in the Champions League and the ones he has taken after that, he is changing his way of kicking it. Now he is changing again. You always have to adapt yourself to the game," Fernandes said.
The Manchester United midfielder also expressed his belief in Ronaldo's penalty-taking prowess in high-pressure moments:
"If you ask anyone in the world to choose who takes a penalty in the 90th minute to save your life, most of the people say Cristiano because they know in that moment he is decisive."
