Galeone denies about Allegri's possible return to AC Milan: 'Inter may call him'

There’s no certainty yet about Max Allegri returning to Milan, and Giovanni Galeone has cast doubt on the rumors while hinting at another possibility: "Another big club might reach out to him."

Out of the spotlight for just under a year, Allegri’s name has roared back into the conversation in recent weeks. This resurgence is partly due to the dismal results of his successor at Juventus, Thiago Motta, and partly because of speculation linking him to the Milan bench next season.

However, nothing is set in stone, and confirmation of this uncertainty comes from one of Allegri’s closest allies in football, Giovanni Galeone. The seasoned former coach didn’t rule out a surprise twist, suggesting that the Livorno-born tactician could be tapped by another Italian heavyweight: "If Inzaghi doesn’t win Serie A, I don’t see why they’d keep him, and at that point, Marotta would definitely call Allegri to Inter." Giovanni Galeone said.

After all, Inter president Marotta has recently dodged questions about renewing Simone Inzaghi’s contract, which runs until 2026, despite the team still being in contention across all competitions. As the saying goes, appetite grows with success, and should Inter end the season empty-handed, any outcome could be on the table.
