Luciano Spalletti: 'An Italy v Germany match always has special charm'
Italy head coach Luciano Spalletti has shared his thoughts ahead of the Nations League quarter-final against Germany.
"A match against Germany always carries a special charm, tied to the history of clashes between two very strong national teams.
"When you watch Nagelsmann’s teams, you immediately see he’s a modern coach. The team follows his instructions, evident in their set-piece routines and their build-up from the back with short passes. He preaches a very attacking style of football that maximizes his players’ strengths. He’s a top coach.
"It’s been 13 years since Italy last beat Germany? We’ve also drawn four times in our last six matches against them. We have to be the dream that every Italian holds when they watch the national team. We need to win and be a strong side. We must carry our history with us - with all its successes and challenges," Luciano Spalletti said.
