Liverpool 'optimistic' over Mo Salah contract extension
Liverpool remains hopeful of securing a contract extension with star forward Mohamed Salah, despite ongoing negotiations, according to reports.
The Athletic's David Ornstein revealed that the Reds are optimistic about reaching an agreement, with Salah believed to be happy at the club and eager to stay.
While the financial aspects of a proposed two-year extension are still being discussed, Ornstein indicated that talks have not stalled and are moving in a positive direction.
Salah's current contract expires this summer, but Liverpool is confident of retaining his services, with the Egyptian's impressive form a driving force behind the team's 12-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.
With just nine games remaining, Liverpool is well-positioned to claim a record-equalling 20th title, and Salah's contribution has been instrumental, with 27 goals and 17 assists in 29 Premier League appearances.
