Slot and Frimpong speak on phone last month – Arne offers Bayer defender move to Liverpool
Arne Slot and Jeremie Frimpong had multiple phone conversations last month, according to Christian Falk.
"Frimpong and Slot, both Dutch, spoke frequently last month. Slot had wanted to sign him last summer, and Liverpool’s head coach told the player he remains interested in bringing him in.
"However, Slot was honest with Frimpong, making it clear that Liverpool's top priorities right now are a striker and a center-back. Since the club won’t receive transfer fees for Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, or Trent Alexander-Arnold if they leave at the end of their contracts this summer, those positions take precedence," Falk reported.
Frimpong's market value is estimated at €40 million. This season, he has scored four goals and provided five assists in 26 Bundesliga matches.
