Fiorentina plan to trigger De Gea contract extension - reports

23 March, 08:30

According to Nicolo Schira, Fiorentina are set to activate the option to extend David de Gea’s contract.

The 34-year-old Spaniard is considered untouchable and a key figure for the Viola.

If extended, his contract will run until June 2026.

As a reminder, the goalkeeper joined the Florence-based club in August last year. Prior to that, he spent over a year as a free agent following his departure from Manchester United.

In his debut season, David has conceded 28 goals in 27 matches (9 clean sheets). Detailed stats can be found here.

Fiorentina themselves sit eighth in the league, five points off the Champions League places.
