Ryan Giggs has emphasized the importance of Manchester United holding on to their most promising academy graduates, amid growing interest from other clubs in young talents like Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.

Speaking on the issue, Giggs acknowledged the challenges posed by financial constraints, but stressed that it’s crucial for the club to keep nurturing their homegrown talent.

"It's important. I think it's really important. I think the problem is with the financial constraints that clubs are now under. I don't get it, it makes it easier to get rid of the younger players. It doesn't seem right because not only United, but lots of clubs rely on players coming through.

"It's great to see. It's one of your own. Maybe they've followed them through the youth team and the younger teams. They want to see them on the pitch, and not only see them on the pitch but stay on the pitch for a number of years.

"Together with that, players who come from other clubs, they sort of always historically showed them what it takes and what it means to be a United player. I think it's really important. The players you mentioned there, they're talented. They've shown what they're capable of doing.

"It's sad to see. You think what would it have been like back in our days if that was the case? How many players wouldn't have played 300, 400, 500 games for Man United? It's sad. I hope it doesn't happen. You can see why clubs are taking advantage of it," Giggs has said.
