Juventus sack Thiago Motta

23 March, 16:04

Juventus have dismissed head coach Thiago Motta following a series of disappointing results this season. Motta's tenure, which began in June 2024, was marred by early eliminations from both the Champions League and the Coppa Italia, coupled with heavy league defeats that left the team outside the Champions League qualification spots.

The decision to part ways with Motta is expected to cost Juventus approximately €15m, covering the remainder of his contract and that of his coaching staff.

Former Juventus defender Igor Tudor, who previously served as an assistant coach under Andrea Pirlo, has been appointed as the interim head coach. Tudor has signed a contract valid until June 2025, with the primary objective of securing Champions League qualification for the upcoming season.

This managerial change underscores Juventus's commitment to restoring their stature both domestically and in European competitions.
