Kevin De Bruyne's agent speaks with San Diego about possible move: 'These rumours… I don’t know where they come from'
33-year-old Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne will become a free agent in the summer, with a high likelihood that he will not extend his contract with the club.
Several Saudi Arabian clubs have shown interest in De Bruyne, but the player prefers a move to MLS. The sporting director of San Diego shared that the club had talks with the Belgian’s agent, but the deal will be difficult to complete due to the high salary demands of the player.
“These rumors… I don’t know where they come from. I spoke with his agent, but the agent represents many players. Every time I see these news stories, I ask: ‘Is this you spreading these things?’
"He’s a fantastic player and really loves the area. He spends his vacation here every year, but I don’t know where all these rumors keep coming from. I did talk to him, but I’ll be honest: his salary expectations don’t currently fit within our budget,” said San Diego director Tyler Hips.
