In France, they believe that Kylian Mbappe gave a proper captain's performance during the international break in March, according to The Athletic.
Mbappe hadn't played for France for six months prior to being called up for March's international break.
The Real Madrid superstar arrived to reclaim his armband, and France fought for a place in the Nations League quarter-final.
Mbappe didn't score across the two legs against Croatia, but everyone believes he led the team by example and helped them go through to the semis.
In the penalty shootout against Luka Modric's team, Mbappe stepped up to score France's first spotkick as they eventually won the tie to book a date with Spain in the semi-final.
