Manchester United confident of world-record naming rights deal for new stadium - Sky Sports
Manchester United have already attracted significant interest in the naming rights for their proposed 100,000-seater stadium, with confidence growing that they could secure a world-record deal, according to Sky Sports.
Several of the club’s current sponsors have expressed their intention to bid for the opportunity, aware that it would require a benchmark fee. Tech giant Snapdragon had already voiced interest in securing the rights last summer during United’s pre-season tour in the U.S.
Independent valuation firms estimate that Old Trafford’s naming rights could have been sold for £15m to £20m per year. However, the prestige of a brand-new stadium - set to be the largest in the UK - could see that figure double.
United’s ability to attract high-level investment and sponsorship interest has been overwhelming since confirming plans for a new ground. This has fueled confidence that the club can fund the estimated £2bn project without relying on government support, with external funds only required for the broader redevelopment of the surrounding area.
