Trent Alexander-Arnold confessed love for Barcelona long before Real Madrid transfer
Trent Alexander-Arnold has reached an agreement to sign for Real Madrid, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Trent will be joining Madrid as a free agent after his contract with Liverpool runs out in the summer.
But a few years ago, Trent had confessed his love for FC Barcelona.
"My other favorite team is Barça," Trent said.
"I think they have the same values as Liverpool. They bring a lot of players up from the youth academy.
"I grew up watching them. Messi and that special team with Iniesta, Xavi, Henry, Eto'o ... All of them... It was something special," the defender added in that 2021 interview.
Barcelona didn't really push to sign Trent as a free agent. Romano says his friend Jude Bellingham, who plays for Real Madrid, helped convince him to join.
