Carlo Ancelotti’s future at Real Madrid remains in doubt after the team’s Champions League elimination against Arsenal, with many pointing to the Italian coach as a key figure in the team’s struggles. According to Alberto Cerruti, a journalist from La Gazzetta dello Sport and a close friend of Ancelotti, the manager is aware that his time at the club is coming to an end.

“It’s a tough moment for both the club and him. He’s not naive—he knows his adventure is coming to a close,” Cerruti said during an interview on SER Deportivos. Cerruti also noted that Ancelotti’s focus is now on finishing the season strong, aiming to secure La Liga and the Copa del Rey, with the possibility of staying on until the Club World Cup still uncertain.

On Ancelotti's future beyond Madrid, Cerruti suggested that Brazil could be his next destination. “I believe his future lies with Brazil,” Cerruti remarked. “A year ago, he didn’t see it as a possibility, but today, he wouldn’t rule it out. If Madrid don’t want him and Brazil comes calling, he will go.”

Cerruti also highlighted Ancelotti’s relationship with his players and the current challenges the manager faces. “He will speak clearly with the players, and they all need to finish the season on a high. It’s not just about Carlo, it’s about the prestige of Real Madrid. There can be no excuses,” Cerruti explained. He confirmed that Ancelotti had already addressed the squad with “strong and direct words,” emphasizing that despite his calm demeanor, he is a tough leader. “He’s calm, but when needed, he’s tough. Calm doesn’t mean soft,” Cerruti concluded.

With speculation about Ancelotti’s future growing, the next few weeks could be crucial in determining whether he stays until the end of the season or departs earlier than expected.
