Ex-England assistant coach Holland sacked by Japanese club after four months

Yokohama F. Marinos have sacked manager Steve Holland after just four months in charge.

Holland, 54, won only one of his 11 league games, leaving the J-League team second from bottom in the division.

The club announced that head coach Patrick Kisnorbo will take over as interim manager.

Holland's tenure was marked by struggles, and his departure comes after a disappointing start to the season.

Holland had a long stint as assistant manager to Gareth Southgate with the England national team before taking on his second managerial role, the first being Crewe Alexandra in 2007-08.

His future plans are uncertain, but he may look to return to management soon.
