Italian journalist Garbo: 'Ancelotti might be tempted to return to Italy'
Carlo Ancelotti could be on his way back to Serie A, with Milan and Roma both seen as possible destinations for the current Real Madrid manager. Following Los Blancos’ heavy Champions League exit against Arsenal, speculation surrounding the Italian's future has intensified — and new revelations suggest a return to Italy is a real possibility.
According to journalist Daniele Garbo, Ancelotti may be leaning towards leaving Spain in favour of a new challenge in his home country. Speaking to TMW Radio, Garbo stated: “I know that Brazil are tempting him, but he’d be more inclined to return to Italy. The teams that could attract him are Milan and Roma.”
Garbo also dismissed the possibility of a move to coach Brazil, instead suggesting Ancelotti may be keeping an eye on the Italy job. “Not as Brazil’s coach, but maybe Italy’s. Still, I know he would like to return to Italy, and Roma appeals to him,” he added.
Milan are reportedly considering a shift in direction, with CEO Giorgio Furlani already working on plans for the club’s future. In that context, a return for Ancelotti – who led the Rossoneri to two Champions League titles during his previous spell – would be viewed as a statement of intent.
Roma are also in the mix, and with uncertainty surrounding both clubs’ coaching roles for next season, the experienced Italian could find himself at the centre of a battle between two of Serie A’s biggest names.
