Lyon's Cherki vows to bounce back after Europa League defeat
Lyon playmaker Rayan Cherki has sent a message to his fans after the club's dramatic 5-4 defeat to Manchester United in the Europa League quarter-final.
Despite scoring in both legs of the tie, Cherki's side ultimately fell short, with United securing a place in the semi-final.
In a post on Instagram, Cherki emphasized the team's pride and focus on moving forward.
"Disappointed with the scenario, but proud of my team and my club," he wrote. "We're going to raise our heads and get into derby mode."
Cherki's message comes ahead of Lyon's upcoming Ligue 1 match against rivals Saint-Etienne this weekend.
The 21-year-old's determination to bounce back from the Europa League defeat will be crucial for Lyon's remaining fixtures.
The France U21 international's performance against Manchester United has also caught the attention of several clubs, including United, who are reportedly interested in signing him this summer.
Cherki is said to be available for around £25million, with several other clubs also rumored to be interested in completing a deal.
For now, however, Cherki's focus remains on helping Lyon secure a positive result against Saint-Etienne and finishing the season on a high note.
