Gallagher: Atletico's season not what we hoped for

Atlético Madrid midfielder Conor Gallagher has reflected on the team's season, acknowledging that while they haven't achieved the level of success they had hoped for, there are still positive aspects to take away.

"We want to win titles, at least one title every season," Gallagher told MARCA.

"Right now, it seems difficult to win a title. We can't say it's been a tremendously successful season, but I think there are many positive aspects. It's a very good group of players, and we all enjoy playing together."

Gallagher also addressed the controversy surrounding a penalty decision in Atlético's Champions League match against Real Madrid.

"To be honest, if (Julián Álvarez) touched it twice, then the rules are the rules," he said.

"It's hard for us to accept because I think we deserved more. But this is football and things can happen."
