Betis could qualify for Champions League from sixth place
Betis may qualify for the Champions League from 6th place in La Liga.
The Seville-based club have already received written confirmation from UEFA that the team finishing 6th in La Liga will qualify for the Champions League if Athletic Club win the Europa League and finishes 5th in the league. In that case, the 7th-place team would enter the Europa League, and the 8th would go to the Conference League.
Currently, Athletic sit 4th with 57 points. If the Basque team win the Europa League (they face Manchester United in the semi-finals) but stays in the top 4, there will be no additional Champions League spot for Spain. Villarreal are right behind with 52 points and a game in hand, while Betis sit 6th with 51 points.
It’s worth noting that five Spanish teams will play in the Champions League next season.
