Guardiola praises Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers ahead of Etihad clash: 'He’s performing incredibly at Villa'
Manchester City’s head coach Pep Guardiola has expressed his admiration for Aston Villa’s forward Morgan Rogers. The 22-year-old, a product of City’s academy, never featured for the Citizens’ first team, having been loaned out to Lincoln City, Bournemouth, and Blackpool.
However, Rogers has flourished at Villa, netting 14 goals and providing 13 assists this season, earning a call-up to the England national team.
Guardiola, wary of Rogers as Villa prepare to visit the Etihad on Tuesday evening, reflected on his potential. "He was in our second team and occasionally trained with us. We caught glimpses of what he could do. He’s performing incredibly at Villa - what a player! It turns out we had an exceptional talent right here," Guardiola said.
