La Liga to maintain scheduled kick-off time for Real Valladolid v Barcelona fixture - reports
La Liga have no intention of altering the scheduled kick-off time for the Matchday 34 clash between Real Valladolid and Barcelona, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Reports indicate that Barcelona previously submitted a request to the league to bring forward the start time of the fixture to allow for better preparation ahead of their Champions League semi-final second leg against Inter Milan.
The Real Valladolid v Barcelona match is set for Saturday, May 3, with the game slated to commence at 9pm CET.
Just three days later, on Tuesday, May 6, Barcelona are due to face the Nerazzurri in Milan for the away leg of their European tie.
Sources suggest that La Liga are unwilling to amend the established fixture schedule, as Barcelona were aware of the potential scheduling conflict as early as April 7, when the league’s timetable was published.
Originally, the match was pencilled in for Sunday, May 4, at 2pm CET, but it was rescheduled to May 3 to accommodate the Champions League calendar.
It is noted that Barcelona did not immediately request a change to the 9pm kick-off time but only did so last week, following their progression to the tournament’s semi-finals.
