Roman Abramovich to openly discuss Chelsea sale in upcoming book
11
Former Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich will detail the £2.5 billion sale of the club in a new book set for release this summer, marking his first public comments in four years, reports the BBC.
The sanctioned Russian billionaire has given a rare two-part interview covering his 2004 Chelsea takeover, the 2022 sale to Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, his role in peace efforts and his suspected poisoning during that time.
The discussions, held in Abu Dhabi and Istanbul, offer a personal account of the events surrounding the club’s ownership transition following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
With funds from the sale still frozen, Chelsea continue their push for Champions League qualification and their first trophy under the new ownership.
