Hansi Flick rejects free Joao Felix loan as Barcelona shut door on return - reports

Joao Felix has once again been offered to Barcelona by his agent, Jorge Mendes, but Hans-Dieter Flick has made it clear that he does not want the Portuguese forward at the club — not even on a free loan.

According to El Nacional, Mendes has proposed Felix’s return to Camp Nou, just as he did last summer and again in January. However, the response from Barcelona has remained firm. Hansi Flick is not interested in the 25-year-old, believing he would cause more problems than provide solutions.

While the German coach has helped key players such as Jules Kounde, Frenkie de Jong, Alejandro Balde and Pedri rediscover form, he sees no place for Felix, who is viewed as an unfulfilled talent. After a promising start to life under Xavi, the forward fell out of favour due to inconsistent performances and attitude issues. Despite backing from club president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco, his loan ended without renewal.

Felix later joined Chelsea but was again sidelined under Enzo Maresca. He was loaned to AC Milan during the January window, but the Serie A side have reportedly grown frustrated with him and have no plans to extend his stay.

Even with Chelsea willing to cover most of Felix’s salary in a potential free loan to Barcelona, Flick has firmly rejected the idea. The player, once hailed as a future star, will now need to search for another opportunity as the doors at Camp Nou remain shut.
