Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City eye Mario Gila amid competition from European heavyweights - reports

CaughtOffside reports that Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City are targeting Lazio defender Mario Gila, with both clubs facing competition from Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain. The 24-year-old has impressed at Lazio, catching the attention of several top European clubs.

Lazio are open to selling Gila for a fee in the range of €40-45m this summer. Tottenham, in need of defensive reinforcements, could see Gila as a potential replacement for Cristian Romero, who has been linked with a move away.

Meanwhile, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is drawn to Gila's composure and passing ability, with plans to develop him alongside Ruben Dias and John Stones.

Real Madrid retains a 50% resale clause from Gila’s transfer to Lazio, which could influence the outcome of the deal. Both PSG and Bayern Munich are also monitoring the situation, considering Gila an ideal addition to their squads. The race for the Spanish defender's signature is set to intensify as the summer transfer window approaches.
