Walter Sabatini: 'Dovbyk still needs to learn the right movements'

Former sporting director of Inter and Roma, Walter Sabatini, has given an interview to Il Tempo in which he shared his thoughts on the adaptation of Ukrainian striker Artem Dovbyk to Italy's Serie A, drawing a partial parallel with the first season of another well-known forward.

Do Dovbyk’s struggles, considering the differences between the two strikers, remind you of Dzeko’s first year at Roma?

"No. Dzeko didn’t have a great first season because he wasn’t scoring goals, but he had the movements of a striker, which later helped him score over 100 goals.

"Dovbyk still needs to learn the proper movements, as well as improve his first touch, which isn’t always ideal. However, I’ve seen many encouraging signs from him, especially in his support of teammates who join the attack," – said Sabatini.
