Douglas Luiz's outburst: 'Injuries not normal', then adds, 'I didn't come to Juve just to post photos'

Douglas Luiz vents on social media. The Juventus midfielder, strongly wanted by Thiago Motta, arrived in Turin after a superb season in the Premier League with Aston Villa, but this year he has never managed to make an impact:

"I didn't come here just to post photos—no one else did either—and I want things to be different. I came here with a purpose.

"I listened to my heart when I arrived and decided to sign. Now I want you to answer me: why hasn't a signing like me played two consecutive matches in this jersey? You can say whatever you want to the press later: 'Oh, Douglas isn't fit.' Am I not fit? I did the entire preseason and played every match.

"I had just come off one of the best seasons of my career, as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League. Injuries held me back, yes. But how long did I stay on the bench while I was healthy? A lot. These injuries were not normal. I've never been a player who gets injured, but there are so many things that could have caused it that I would rather not comment on.

"I will continue to give everything for this club, even if it's difficult at times—it’s not easy—but you can count on me!"

So far, he has made only 23 appearances in black and white, with Igor Tudor never really considering him, preferring Thuram and Locatelli.
