Liverpool eye Benjamin Sesko as potential replacement for Darwin Nunez - reports
Liverpool could be set for major changes in their attacking line-up this summer, with RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko emerging as a prime target if Darwin Nunez leaves Anfield, according to GiveMeSport.
Reports suggest that the Reds are considering a move for the Slovenian forward as they prepare for a potential departure of Nunez, who has struggled to meet expectations.
Nunez, who joined Liverpool from Benfica in 2022, is reportedly attracting strong interest from Atletico Madrid. Diego Simeone is said to be keen on bringing the Uruguayan to the Spanish capital, with the La Liga side viewing him as a potential replacement for Angel Correa, who could exit the club this summer.
With Liverpool said to have informed Nunez that he does not feature in their long-term plans, sporting director Michael Edwards has identified Sesko as a key candidate to bolster the forward line.
Sesko, who has a reported £55 million release clause, was previously linked with Premier League sides Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea.
Benjamin Sesko has scored 20 goals and provided 6 assists in 42 matches this season. See detailed stats on Tribuna.com.
