Rudiger banned for 6 matches, Vazquez for 2; Bellingham cleared

The Competition Committee has handed out sanctions to several Real Madrid players following the Copa del Rey final.

Antonio Rüdiger has been banned for six matches, while Lucas Vázquez will serve a two-match suspension.

However, the impact of these sanctions will be limited. Rüdiger, who will be out for approximately a month and a half due to injury, will likely serve most of his ban while sidelined, effectively rendering it meaningless for the remainder of the season.

With only five La Liga matches left, Rüdiger has all but missed out on the league campaign.

Lucas Vázquez's two-match ban will not affect him in La Liga and would instead carry over to the start of the next season, potentially in the Copa del Rey knockout rounds.

Given his contract expires in June and his future with Real Madrid is uncertain, Vázquez might not even serve the ban with the club.

In a notable decision, Jude Bellingham was cleared of any penalty after Real Madrid presented video evidence contradicting the match report that led to his red card.

The report had alleged that Bellingham approached the referee's position aggressively after the match, but the footage showed otherwise, resulting in no sanction for the English midfielder.
