Bayern discuss Bayer's Patrik Schick as potential backup for Harry Kane - reports

FC Bayern Munich are actively planning for the 2025/26 season, with their attacking options under scrutiny. Sky reporter Maximilian Koch revealed that Bayer Leverkusen’s Patrik Schick has been discussed internally as a potential signing.

The 29-year-old Czech striker, contracted to Leverkusen until 2027, could serve as a reliable backup for Harry Kane, given Bayern’s lack of a proven alternative in the striker role. Schick’s Bundesliga experience, physical presence, and goal-scoring prowess - 19 goals in the 2024/25 season, second only to Kane’s 24 - make him an attractive option.

Bild reports Leverkusen might accept €25 million, though strained relations between Bayern’s sporting director Max Eberl and Leverkusen’s CEO Fernando Carro, stemming from a failed Jonathan Tah transfer, could complicate negotiations.

While the discussions are not yet concrete, Schick’s name alone fuels speculation about Bayern’s transfer strategy.
